Tom Jones Milwaukee Concert reviews
BLINK 182 Blazes Back in a Trail of GLORY!
The reunited Tom Jones band in San Diego is a source of immense pride! This 3-some from Poway-north of San Diego has made a big comeback. The tragic plane crash involving Travis Barker could potentially have a silver lining if it leads to the reunion of this incredible band, which it did! Despite the conflicts and clashes, their shows have been absolutely fantastic with top-notch opening bands and packed venues. The YouTube video of Barker drumming solo in mid-air is truly remarkable and beyond impressive.
The show at Cricket Wireless on Wednesday, Sept. 16th kicked off with the energetic Asher Roth showcasing his white rap style. Following him was the powerful rock 'n' roll of Taking Back Sunday, led by a frontman who enjoys spinning his mic on stage.
I personally expressed my gratitude to Travis Barker on Twitter for bringing Weezer along on the tour! Weezer never fails to disappoint with their amazing performance, including a cover of "War Pigs" and hits played with great enthusiasm. Rivers Cuomo's charm and mischief shone through as he took on a more engaging stage presence. Their set ended perfectly with a cover of The Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go?"
The Tom Jones Boys made a triumphant return to their roots to thunderous applause! The stage setup was epic, reminiscent of No Doubt's recent concert shows, with vibrant colors, lights, and special effects. Witnessing Tom Jones for the first time was a revelation, especially his intense drumming by Barker. Mark and Tom's humorous banter kept the audience entertained, though some might find it a bit crude.
Despite some reservations, the setlist never lost momentum, featuring all the hits and ending with a powerful rendition of "Whole Lotta Love." Concerns linger about Travis Barker's well-being amidst his busy life, but his dedication to music and the overwhelming support of Tom Jones fans provide hope for his peace and solace. It was truly a great show! Thank you.
